We are as passionate about our food as we are our coffee. Our chef sources the best local ingredients – free range, pasture reared, eggs from Usana (check out their happy chickens), grass fed beef from Frankie Fenner, the best artisanal bacon (thick cut and full of flavour) and mouth watering sourdough bread from Woodstock Bakery.
Here in the Cape, we are a bit twisted. Who can blame us? a diverse cultural heritage is a serious understatement. Diversity is all about the upsides. Yes, our glasses tend to run half full.
This menu is a celebration of how that diversity has defined food in the South of Africa, and in the Cape, more specifically. We have tradition, culture, icons and of course, clichés.
This is us embracing that good stuff and deliberately getting it all wrong in a most delicious way. Celebrating and honouring the culture that we all grew up with and are so proud to be a part of.
Shoo-wow, Gastro-Kaap is a thing, don’t hate us, please?
“Truth Coffee Roasting shop in Buitenkant street, Cape Town, has been mentioned by acclaimed UK news agency, The Telegraph, as being the very best in the whole world – and we agree they’re the cream of the crop!
From a list of 13 unique coffee shops and roasteries in the world, Truth’s steampunk-inspired artisan coffee shop – a warehouse filled from top to bottom with metal piping and quirky, old machinery – surfaced on top, grinding out some of the top shops in France, Vienna, Singapore and Italy. “
